Ladder Info

The Basics

If you have never played in a squash ladder before, it's great fun. New players can find other beginners to play, and advanced players can find challenging players.

Regardless of where you start on the ladder, after a period of time, you will end up playing people of similar ability. If you improve, you are likely to go up the ladder and play against tougher opponents. When you are ready to make a challenge, go to the rankings page (you must be logged in first). Then click on the player you wish to challenge and follow the instructions.

If you wish to take a break from the ladder, you can. While you are "resting," no one can challenge you. When you wish to resume, you start at the bottom of the ladder again. Of course you can also quit entirely, if you like. These options are available from the Admin page, once you are logged in.

The Rules

1. You may challenge the player one, two, or three positions above you on the ladder. There's a special rule for players who have just signed up. When you join the ladder you may challenge any player in the bottom 60% of the ladder for your first challenge.

2. All games should be played within 10 days of a challenge being made (unless there are extenuating circumstances) otherwise the challenger wins.

If you are challenged and know you can't play in the 10-day window, be courteous and forfeit the challenge as soon as you can. (There's a button that will let you forfeit instead of reporting a score.)

3. You should try to arrange a mutually convenient time to play your match. If you CANNOT agree, then you MUST play your match on a weekday commencing between 1PM and 3:30PM or on a weekend between 10 am and 4 pm.

You are welcome to mutually agree to play at a different location, but the default location is the Coors Fitness Center. (The Coors reservation number: 303-871-3845.)

4. If the person being challenged offers 3 different 'compulsory match times' (on different days), and the challenger cannot make any of them, then the challenge is void. The challenger should cancel the challenge using the button on the score reporting page.

5. If the person being challenged cannot offer 3 different 'compulsory match times' (on different days) then the challenger wins by default.

6. If either party is more than 10 minutes late in attending an agreed match then the late player loses the match.

7. If you make a successful challenge, the ladder software will swap your name with the person you beat.

8. Please agree with your opponent the number of games to play prior to the match e.g. best of 3 or best of 5 games.

9. If no result has been recorded by two thirds of the way through the challenge period, the ladder software should email a reminder to both parties.

10. If neither player has recorded a result by the end of the challenge period, the software will send a warning asking the players to record the result within a few days "grace period." If no result has been recorded by the end of the grace period the challenger automatically wins.

11. If the challenger wishes to cancel the challenge they may do so within the challenge and grace period with no consequences.

12. If the challenged person wishes to forfeit the challenge they can record this within the challenge and grace period, and the game is won by the challenger by forfeit.

13. Please work out any conflicts. If you cannot, you may contact us and explain the problem. Our decision will be final.
